First Day Back Blues

Woke up this morning

It was cold and dark and drear

First day back in work

At the start of another year

Knackered knee protesting

Shoulders hurting too

Hoping that the painkillers

Kick in and see me through

I’ve got the First Day Back to Work

No more excuse to shirk

First Day Back to Work Blues!

(But on the plus side, only 23 days until a week in the sun, so I can’t feel too sorry for myself!)
